Unraveling the distance

Every time that we come close enough,
it is more unbearable to go away,
every time that I leave I try to laugh,
while all my cells beg me to stay.

Don’t open the door, don’t leave the car,
I need to hold your hand, to feel you near,
one step away is already one step too far,
I need to feel your breath, caressing my ear.

When I dive deep into your eyes,
I’m no longer sane, I can’t tell right or wrong,
I’m getting lost, the time flies,
one second without you, is already one second too long.

Still on my arms, the dance of your fingertips,
on my hand, the shape of your smile,
still on my lips, the taste of your lips,
trying to hold on to memories, mile after mile.

I’ll pave the land, I’ll breathe the air, I’ll drink the sea,
every knot that stands between us, I will unravel,
I won’t stop until the only distance that we see,
is the distance from where we stand to where we’ll travel.
